Branch-and-Bound method, cutting planes, network optimization models,
shortest path problems, optimum tree problems, maximal cardinality
matching problems, matching-covering duality, symmetric and asymmetric
TSP, 2-matching and 1-tree relaxations, VRP formulations, and dynamic
programming.
Problems and Solutions for Integer and Combinatorial Optimization:
Building Skills in Discrete Optimization is meant for undergraduate
and beginning graduate students in mathematics, computer science, and
engineering to use for self-study and for instructors to use in
conjunction with other course material and when teaching courses in
discrete optimization.

Some recent developments in multiparameter eigenvalue problems
Thursday 16 November 2023 at 5pm
KU Leuven, Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT), Aula R (ELEC

Abstract: We review some recent results in multiparameter eigenvalue
problems. This includes the fascinating problem of finding
determinantal representations of minimal size. This reflects some work
with Bor Plestenjak.
Everyone is welcome to attend in person.
The presentation will be streamed and can be followed by using this

hyperbolic PDE with non-conservative products, well balanced schemes
as well as meshless Lagrangian particle methods. The lectures are
supplemented with computer laboratory exercises to provide practical
hands-on experience concerning the practical aspects of the
implementation of these advanced numerical methods.

SAYAS NUMERICS DAY
9am to 6pm, May 11, 2024
George Mason University (Arlington Campus)
This annual workshop (formerly DelMar Numerics Day) displays the
diversity of research in computational mathematics in Maryland,
Virginia, Delaware and vicinity.
The meeting is named in honor of Francisco Javier Sayas (1968-2019).
He played a key role in establishing and running DelMar Numerics Day,
and was dedicated to its mission of giving especially younger
mathematicians an opportunity to share their work.
Georg Stadler (Courant Institute) will give the keynote talk.
There will be about 12 contributed talks (20 min. each), selected by
the scientific committee to represent diverse topics of research in
computational mathematics.
Registration is free. We particularly encourage graduate students and
young researchers to attend and submit talks. The deadline for
submitting talks is April 8, 2024.
